Early in the morning we took a private tour to the Mendut Buddhist Monastery and the famous Borobudur Temple (Unesco heritage site and largest Buddhist temple). First stop the Mendut Monastery.

Our guide also took us to see some traditional houses and try the (in)famous Lopi Luwak coffee..
After some Nasi Goreng with Sate Ayam, we went to see the Borobudur Temple and the beautiful scenery surrounding it. Walking around the temple itself it was a bit akward because a lot of the visiting schoolchildren wanted to take a selfie with us. Apparently children from the more rural areas don’t see a lot of Western people. We had the same thing years ago while climbing the Great Wall of China..
After a trip through the busy streets of Yogyakarta we relaxed at the hotel swimming pool and got some delicious dinner..
