Today we travelled, very early, from Surabaya to Brunei with Royal Brunei Airlines. After arriving in Brunei we explored a bit of the downtown area of Bandar Seri Begawan.

Our hotel is near the Masjid Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque which is sadly closed for non-muslims during the Ramadan. During the Ramadan it's also illegal to eat or drink in public, which is pretty tricky considering it's about 34 degrees.
The mosque is often considered as one of the most beautiful mosques in the Asia Pacific, especially at night.
After sunset it was time to get some food aka Chicken Tikka Masala and a Iced Lemon Tea..
Tomorrow we will check out the Bukit Sarang Helang hiking area and visit Kampong Ayer aka "Venice of the East", the floating village.
