Day 13

Time to head to the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park to explore the “floating mountains” and surrounding scenery for ourselves. We headed to the busstation and after a little stumbling we found a mini-van to take us to the south entrance about 50 minutes away.

After arriving in the nearby town we grabbed some quick lunch and headed up the mountain with a glass elevator giving us our first glimpse of the famous mountains.

The Hallelujah Mountains in the movie Avatar were inspired by the Heavenly Pillar in the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. They are amazing!

After hiking down the mountain we headed back home using the same mode of transport and eat a late dinner of honey-glaced pork and beef.

Tomorrow we head to a different mountain nearby, the Tianmen Mountain. This mountain has a cliff walk, a glass walk and the longest cable car in the world!
