Day 17

On our way to the bus station we walked along the city wall to shade ourselves from the burning 30 degree sun. After getting a quick lunch at Mr. Lee, a knock-off McDonalds with Chinese food, we headed to the Terracotta Warriors. Around an hour by bus.

There are a couple of buildings in the park, one of them is a museum showcasing bronze horses and tools. The other larger buildings cover pits where the artifacts and warriors were found.

The main building is a giant airplane hangar-like structure that covers the main pit containing most of the warriors. Sadly taking photos is a bit tricky as you can not get close to them.

After an exhausting walk through the extremely busy park we headed back to the city in search of some food.

Tomorrow we travel to Shijiazhuang, a journey of around 4.5 hours by high-speed train. We will shorten our planned stay in Shijiazhuang because of the lack of transportation to the "not so nearby" temple in the mountains to have some extra time in Beijing.
