30°Today we travel to the lakeside city of Bacalar which is a nice drive of around 200 kilometres. The weather isn't as nice due to showers but still pretty warm and of course humid..
On the way to Bacalar we decided to check out a little town called Felipe Carillo Puerto. This nondescript town was the perfect place to do some grocery shopping and has some nice murals around.
Sadly the heavens opened up and we had to take shelter..
We did some grocery shopping after the heavy rain stopped and made some delicious sandwiches to eat in the car.
Time to get back on the road and head to Bacalar. On the way we had to slow down several times because of heavy showers. Time to relax at the hotel!
Time to check out the huge fresh water lake of Bacalar and get something nice to eat.
Tomorrow we are going to explore this lake some more with snorkeling, swimming and hopefully a kayak!
