Our journey started pretty early with a quick flight from Amsterdam to London Heathrow. After a short transfer in Terminal 5 we boarded our “Dreamliner” for a eleven hour flight to Seoul.

15 floorsOur journey started pretty early with a quick flight from Amsterdam to London Heathrow. After a short transfer in Terminal 5 we boarded our “Dreamliner” for a eleven hour flight to Seoul.
After arriving in Seoul we headed to our downtown hotel across from the Cheong-gye-cheon river and stashed our bags to begin our exploration of downtown Seoul.
Preparations were underway for the Seoul Lantern Festival beginning tomorrow on the small urban river. Hopefully we can walk the river tomorrow night in the light of huge lanterns in all shapes and sizes.
At the end of the river at least a hundred police men were gathered in front of the US embassy to prevent a few, peaceful, protesters from getting near the embassy. The US President Trump is arriving in Seoul soon, hence the protests.
A few streetfood snacks later we decided to rest up in our hotel for a fresh adventure tomorrow.
